-The following are terms of a legal agreement between you, the customer and Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln. By accessing, browsing and/or using anything on this site, you acknowledge that you have read, un­derstood, and agree to be bound by the terms below and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with these terms, don’t use this site.

1. Repair Authorisation
The customer authorises Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln to carry out an evaluation of the machine sent/delivered to determine the nature of the damage and provide an estimate of repair cost and timing.

The customer authorises Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln and employees, to receive and transport the PC/Laptop to and from our office/workshop.

Any PC/Laptop left with Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln unclaimed for 28 days, will be disposed of or resold. At which time, Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln reserves the right and shall have no liability to the customer or any third party.

2. Limited Liability
Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln shall not be liable for any claims regarding the physical functioning of the PC/Laptop/device or the condition or existence of data on storage media supplied before, during or after service.

In no event will Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln be liable for any damage to the PC/Laptop, loss of data, loss of revenue or profits, however caused, before, during or after service.

3. Confidentiality
Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln agree not to disclose any and all information or data files supplied with, stored on, or recovered from customers PC/Laptop except to employees of Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln subject to confidentiality agreements or as required by law.

4. Payment
Payment is due in full upon receipt of invoice/receipt, prior to release of any good purchased, services rendered, or of the repaired PC/Laptop/device and this is non-negotiable under any circumstances. At present, we accept cash and bank transfer.

5. Warranty
There is a 30 day warranty on PC’s/Laptops that Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln has repaired unless otherwise stated. Where brand new parts have been fitted e.g. SSD drives, the drive will be warranted for the full manufacturers period, however this excludes the cost of labour/materials to exchange the device in the instance where considerable work is required e.g. Apple iMacs where the screen must be removed and re-fitted etc. Data backup is the customers responsibility. If you require assistance with backup solutions, please ask us. Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln will not be held responsible in any way, shape or form for the loss of data on any devices supplied, even if brand new.

6. Diagnostic Fees
We charge a diagnostic fee which is deducted off the final repair if we carry this out. If we do not carry out the repair and you choose to take your device away, the fee is chargeable in full upon collection of your goods.

7. Call-out fees
We reserve the right to charge a call-out fee which will vary depending upon location. At present, this is £48 within Lincoln and surrounding villages within a 5 mile radius, and £60 for locations further afield and within reasonable travelling distance. The callout fee is non-negotiable and is chargeable in all circumstances.

Privacy

1. Personal Data (PID)
Personal Data / Person Identifiable Data  is any data that identifies you specifically. We will deal with your Personal Data in compliance with the current UK GDPR data protection legislation.

1a. Personal Data Collection.
Personal Data is collected, processed and used by Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln in the course of providing our Service to you and the other purposes mentioned below. The use of information will remain under the control of Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln. We will never pass your data onto any third party.

1b. Collected Information.
We collect your name, address, email address and phone number. We do not store any data in any of our databases.

2. Customer Contact.
We may send emails to you about products and services which we consider may be of interest to you if you have dealt with us. If you do not wish to recieve these emails please notify us in writing and allow us 7 working days to update our records.

3. Cookies
Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln may make use of “cookies”. A cookie is a small text file which is placed on your hard disk. Cookies contain information about you and your chosen preferences. For example, it might contain a record of which pages within the Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln website you visited, to help us customise the website for you the next time you visit.

3a. Cookie Policy
Only the information that you provide, or the choices you make, while visiting the Bugs & Bytes Computing Lincoln website can be stored in a cookie. 5. Data Backup/Recovery
If we need to backup any data from any storage medium before reinstalling any operating system, we will store your name and data on our external backup device. Upon job completion, we will hold you data for 48 hours or until you confirm all files are present (which ever occurs first). If we do not hear back within 48 hours we will assume all files are present and erase the data stored in line with GDPR regulations.
